What guidance do I get from this paragraph or Surah? (Please DO NOT start a new topic. Add your posts as replies to this post.)
My guidance from this verse is that we should constantly reflect on the blessings given to us by the Lord of the World, who sustains every one of us with his eternal blessings with food and water, with rivers and mountains. His attributes can be seen in nature, in the sunshine, in the nights made for us to rest, in the land we till, in the crops we grow, in the animals he provide for our food.
I am a creation of this eternally merciful Lord, who is always looking after me and providing for me even when I’m unaware or unable to do so myself. I must do my level best to be grateful to Him and try to abide by His rules because He is the only one whose mercy can save me on the day of recompense.
مجھے یہ یاد رکھنا ہے اخرت آکر رہے گئ اللہ انصاف کرے گا اورہر حال میں شکر کرنا ہے اس کی صفات کو اپنے اندر پیدا کرنا ہے
1. To inculcate in us the ability to reflect on empirical evidence and form our belifs based on its implications.
2. To genuinely believe that God's relationship with his creation is based on the spirit of mercy, and we should try to replicate the same trait within us in our relationship with fellow human beings. Mercy, love and empathy.
My takeaway from the first 3 verses is how the first word in the Book of God is "Gratitude "
He could have had quite literally his own name as the first word! But He chose Gratitude. If that isn't a sign in of its own then what could be?
Adding points #3-5 after Session #11
1. To inculcate in me the ability to reflect on empirical evidence around me and form all my beliefs based on its implications.
2. To genuinely believe that God's relationship with his creation is based on the spirit of mercy, and I should try to replicate the same trait in my relationship with fellow human beings. Mercy, love, and empathy.
3. To keep a mindset that the fulfillment of justice that I inherently seek is in the hereafter not here, this world is by design a place where opportunities are given at every instant to improve my character.
4. To become conscious of my blessings and be grateful for it and work on moving away from thoughts of what I don't have/didn't get
5. Develop a prism of seeing everything from the perspective of God and hereafter. Success in my endeavors should be an opportunity to be grateful, failure in it should also be an opportunity to be grateful.
My takeaway is that every blessing is from God.He has given us complete sustenance in our life, food, air, water, but this life is a continuous test from beginning to end. His rehmat is continuous but there is a moral vacuum in this life, we don’t get justice in this life. Then we realize he has mentioned “ Malik’s Yaume Deen” WHY? because he is the “Master of the Day of Judgement” and he will give us all the justice we deserve in the next life. He will fulfill all our desires which cannot be fulfilled in this life. So we need to do shukr and sabr in this life and remain always grateul for what’s God has given us and not complain for what we don’t have!

After Session #12
- Added exercises, and reworded my points for more clarity
1. Reflect on empirical evidence to form beliefs.
2. Emulate God's mercy, love, and empathy in relationships.
3. Seek justice in the hereafter; improve character in this world.
4. Be grateful for blessings; reduce focus on lacks.
5. View life through a prism of God and the hereafter; find gratitude in success and failure. A belief in the hereafter should lead to hopefulness and away from helplessness - participant
Points by Moiz Ajad and other participants
6. Gratitude isn't just about acknowledging blessings in absence. - Moiz Amjad (not Verbatim)
7. Judgement leads to a lack of compassion, avoid judging others; focus on understanding their perspective, if you become conscious of the fact that God is "Maalik" and only He can judge, then you can try to get away from this thought process - Moiz Amjad & participant
8. The challenges you encounter in life are determined by God, but how you respond to them is solely within your control- Moiz Amjad
Exercise
----------
1. Gratitude Journal, this should contain ( #4, #5, #6)
- List blessings.
- Reflect on how God enabled them.
- Consider the impact of losing these blessings.
2. Created a game with my 6 year old daughter
- She points out when I'm angry, ranting (#2) or making mistakes (like using phone and driving). This situation is embarrassing because I strive not to make such mistakes in front of my child, and it is aiding me in becoming more mindful
3. Mindful Speech Excercise
- When discussing someone, I imagine my words are being recorded and will be heard by that person. This practice helps me remain mindful not to say anything negative or potentially hurtful. (#2)
4. Positive Focus Excercise
- I've become more aware of the person I dislike the most, and now I actively replace negative thoughts or conversations about them with their positive traits whenever possible(#2)
5. Quran Notes Review
- Critique notes for relevance to verses (#1)
6. Ordered the Book "Magic - Rhonda Byrne" as suggested by a participant(Nasir), I'm specifically searching for exercises for addressing #1 and better exercises for #2
7. Blessing Group
