I am Moiz
I am a great fan of Simon Sinek’s. Since I read his book, “Starting with Why,” I try to keep my own ‘Why’ clear. I cannot claim that I refuse to undertake anything that does not directly contribute to my ‘why,’ though I wish I could. Yet, I can safely say that spending time on anything that does not have a direct relation with my ‘why’ is definitely not an elating experience for me.
It was on the night between November 23 and 24 – well past midnight – when I read out a small piece of my incomplete writing to my son. After listening to it, he immediately said to me: “Why don’t you start a blog?” I responded, “How will that contribute to my purpose any differently than posting those writings on Facebook or Linkedin?” He replied: “Firstly, it will keep all your writings at one place; and secondly, I think only those who are seriously interested in what you are saying will subscribe to your blog. Facebook is mostly full of non-serious readers. And linkedin is probably too professional.” Our discussion ended here. He went off to sleep. I was still thinking about the idea of starting a blog.
By the time I woke up, I was clear. I had decided to start my blog under my own name, with the title “Reflections.” It will be directly related to my ‘why,’ which I have stipulated as:
I am a learner and a contributor toward the rejuvenation of the human spirit.
